‘Call Your Name’ July 1983
Quaintly dated sound. It’s a bit like being at the Roundhouse in the early seventies, or at one of those terrible outdoor festivals in Belgium where, by four o’clock in the morning everyone sounded like this. The record starts well with some fast and flashy acoustic picking, but the promise of something original fades with the entry of some pretty tired sounding Heavy Metal Riff. There is a picture on the sleeve of what I take to be the band in the back of a van looking mean and moody in leather jackets and sneakers, they look a bit like Status Quo roadies really.
